Duffy Role Model Assembly

Yesterday we had an exciting visitor come to speak about his love of reading and writing. Kyle Mewburn (author of Melu, Kiss Kiss Yuck Yuck! etc) engaged us all in his talent of telling stories. He spoke of his schooling and how he wasn't encouraged to be a writer but did it anyway. He shared how we are all geniuses and can write a story if we have ideas and imagination. The children loved his stories and particularly liked his jokes. He taught us how important it is to keep trying to write until it is perfect (he had to rewrite a book 17 times!!)
